Important Changes in Applying for Pleasure Craft Licensing 2015
As of July 2015, the Office of Boating Safety Transportation Canada changed the system of licensing pleasure crafts in Canada. The new system, called the “Pleasure Craft Electronic Licensing System” is to be completed by the purchaser of the vessel. There is also the ability for dealers to use the new system for licensing boats.
All license applications which were applied before July 12th, 2015 will be processed under the old system. Licensing applications applied for after July 12th, 2015 will be processed using the new system.
The new system must be applied for online, as they will no longer be accepting paper applications or faxes. A photograph of the boat is required with the application.
